The Mobilizing Parents for Healthier Environments project will mobilize parents to create opportunities for healthier nutrition and physical activity for children in the school and community to prevent childhood obesity and reduce their risk for diabetes.  Parents will identify common areas of concern, take the lead in identifying environmental and policy priorities, and create an action plan for the establishment of school policies.  This project will build on the resources of an existing community coalition to assist parents carry out project goals to include the development of a culturally relevant obesity prevention curriculum addressing Mexican children in Somerton, Arizona.
