Support Your ProgramHealthy Coping in Diabetes: A Guide for Program Development and Implementation
This Guide introduces program managers and patient care teams to a range of program and clinical approaches that address negative emotions and promote healthy coping in adults with diabetes. Its purpose is to promote awareness of healthy coping as an important component of diabetes management and offer guidance on program development or expansion in this area. In addition to providing broad descriptions of several approaches, the Guide briefly addresses the nature and strength of the evidence supporting their effectiveness and provides some program examples from projects of the Diabetes Initiative that illustrate how these approaches have been implemented in different settings. Finally, the Guide offers implementation considerations and provides information on additional resources for those interested in learning more.
